My brother built on our ancestral land without asking the rest of us. Can we tear down the construction? He claims ownership now, saying he won’t let us sell the house, and won’t even let us inside! What can we do to get back our property? Can we live there? How do we take this to court? Can he legally block us from our ancestral home? Can we divide the property and how? He’s undervaluing the land – how do we get a fair assessment?

Your brother’s actions are illegal. You have rights as co-owners of ancestral property. You can file a suit for partition and possession, seeking a fair assessment of the property value. The court can order a division and grant you access and possession of your rightful share. You can also seek injunctions against your brother to prevent further illegal actions.
