I’m a real estate agent in Hyderabad. A client from Bangkok wanted me to find a rental flat for her mother. Her mother visited the property and liked it. After discussing with her mother, my client contacted me and we started negotiating. I agreed to a 50% brokerage on the rental value. I have all our WhatsApp messages. But, the next day she got the owner’s number online and closed the deal without telling me. Can I take legal action?

Under Indian law, real estate agents are entitled to commission if they introduce a client to a property and the client enters into a transaction. You have proof of your agreement and the client’s actions suggest they were aware of your role. You can pursue legal action for breach of contract and claim your commission.
