Under Indian law, the developer cannot unilaterally cancel the booking and keep your money without giving you a reasonable time to pay the remaining amount. You can file a complaint with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) or initiate legal proceedings in a consumer forum to recover your money and seek compensation for the developer’s breach of contract. You should also seek legal advice to understand your specific rights and options.
