My godown in India is rented to two partners running a flour mill. They started in November 2015, paying Rs. 8,000 per month, excluding electricity. Only one partner signed the agreement, but it wasn’t attested from February 2016. Now, they’re having a dispute and refusing to pay rent. The machinery belongs to the other partner who witnessed the agreement. How can I get my rent back and ensure the machinery’s safety?

As the agreement was not attested from February 2016, it may not be legally enforceable. You can issue a legal notice demanding rent payment and seeking possession of the godown. To ensure machinery safety, you can consider approaching the court and seek an injunction against its removal or disposal until the dispute is settled.
