We got married in 2003 and our daughter was born in 2005. In 2013, my wife left with her family. I tried everything to resolve the issues, even taking her on a trip to the mountains, but she refused to return. She filed cases against me in 2015. Mediation attempts in both the lower court and the High Court in Uttar Pradesh have failed. Now the cases are going to trial. What should I do? Should I file for divorce and also file for return of my money as she is working as a teacher? I don’t have any proof of the money I gave her.

Based on Indian laws, you can file for divorce under the grounds of desertion since your wife left in 2013 and has refused to return despite your efforts. Regarding your money, you can seek a financial settlement, but proving the amount given without any documentation will be challenging. It is advisable to consult a lawyer to explore your specific legal options and strategies.
