My wife filed for alimony in Mumbai and the family court granted it. I appealed this decision in the High Court and it was accepted. Now, both the family court and lower court refuse to hear my case, saying it’s pending in the High Court. However, even though my case is listed for hearing in the High Court, it hasn’t been called after a year. What can I do?

You can approach the High Court directly to expedite the hearing of your appeal. You can also file an application seeking a direction to the lower courts to proceed with your case, citing the delay in the High Court. Alternatively, you can explore options like filing a writ petition in the High Court to address the lack of progress in your appeal.
