My family was cheated in 2002, and we filed a case. The court awarded us compensation in January 2003, but the process was long and draining. We lost a lot due to this, and I’m still facing the consequences of their actions. The agreement stated they would cover all expenses and damages. Now the case is restarting. Is there a way for me to get back the money I lost, considering the three-year time limit? I never withdrew the case, and all my losses are directly related to it.

The three-year limitation period for filing a claim for compensation generally begins from the date of the cause of action. As your case was awarded compensation in 2003 and is now restarting, you may be able to claim additional damages for the losses incurred due to the delay and ongoing legal proceedings, subject to the court’s discretion and specific circumstances of your case.
