My wedding in February 2015 was followed by constant disapproval from my in-laws, who felt my father’s arrangements were inadequate. Their criticism and emotional abuse became unbearable. After a disagreement, they demanded I leave. My husband, unfortunately, resorted to insulting my brother and father. Despite my efforts to save the marriage, their insensitive behavior continued. My in-laws viewed me solely as a servant, expected to do chores and please their son. Their education didn’t translate into respect or compassion. One day, their verbal abuse turned physical, forcing me to leave in December 2015. I’ve been living with my parents since. My in-laws have contacted my father, expressing interest in a mutual separation. While the pain and hurt are deeply personal, I need to move forward and end this relationship.
