My husband has been seeing another woman for some time now. He transferred property into my name 20 years ago, but now he wants his share of it. Is he legally entitled to this? Can I and our children also claim a share in any property that’s still in his name? We haven’t gotten divorced and I don’t intend to.

Under Indian law, property transferred to you 20 years ago is likely yours, even if your husband wants his share. You and your children can claim a share in any property still in his name, especially if it was acquired during your marriage. This claim would be based on your marital rights and could be pursued through a court if needed.
