My husband and I have been married for 10 years. He’s been having an affair with someone at work for the past year, and now he wants a divorce. I’m not ready to give up and want to try to work things out. Can he still go ahead with the divorce, or what are his legal options?

Under Indian law, your husband can file for divorce on the grounds of adultery, but you can contest it. You can also try to reconcile and seek counseling. If your husband is insistent on divorce, you can explore options like mediation or a mutual consent divorce.
