My father, a heavy drinker, has been abusive for 15 years. My mother endured it for a long time, but eventually, she left with us, moving to another state. After a year, he pleaded for a second chance, and she gave him another try. But soon, he returned to his old ways, becoming even more aggressive. We had to flee again, but he tracked us down, causing more pain. We finally had to involve the police and my mother filed for separation, getting a court order to protect us. Now, he’s unwell, and his family is pressuring us to return or give up our claim on his property. What should we do?
