As a homemaker, I stood as a guarantor for my brother’s business. I haven’t invested in the company, nor do I or my family own any shares. Now, the business has faced financial difficulties. Could the bank harass me or declare me a defaulter?

As a guarantor, you are legally obligated to repay the loan if your brother defaults. While the bank cannot harass you, they can pursue legal action against you to recover the outstanding amount. You are considered a defaulter if you fail to fulfill your guarantee obligations.
