I bought a new car from a dealer in my city, but they registered it in my father’s name instead of mine, even though all the payment receipts and invoice were in my name as per my Aadhaar card. The dealer’s agent made the mistake. Now, they’re giving me trouble getting the road tax receipt, insurance policy copy, and other documents. I’ve been calling them constantly for updates, but they keep making excuses. I even got the registration details myself from the RTO, but the dealer still claims it’s not registered, even though it’s been over two weeks since I bought the car. What should I do?

This situation requires immediate action. You need to formally complain to the dealer in writing, outlining the issue and demanding rectification. Additionally, you can file a complaint with the consumer forum or the local RTO, highlighting the dealer’s negligence and their refusal to provide the necessary documents.
