In India, under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, your children or other family members are legally obligated to provide you with maintenance, which includes a safe and habitable living environment. You can file a complaint with the Senior Citizens’ Welfare Council or approach the local police or magistrate for assistance.

My name was legally changed after college, and I updated my passport, PAN card, and driving license accordingly. But now, the RTO in Bangalore won’t issue me a Yellow Badge for a commercial driver’s license because my name on my 10th standard marksheet is different.
