Our family owns an ancestral home in Noida, registered in my 80-year-old grandmother’s name. My mother and uncle have shares in it, and my aunt also claims a share. My grandfather made a will, but it wasn’t officially registered. To our surprise, my uncle published a sale advertisement in the local newspaper without our consent, even listing his and my aunt’s contact information. This has caused much discomfort, with neighbours inquiring about the sale, and we are not interested in selling the property. What are our options now?

Since your grandfather’s will is unregistered, it might not be legally valid. You can file a suit to declare the will invalid and seek a share in the ancestral property. Also, you can approach the court to issue an injunction against your uncle’s unauthorized sale advertisement and protect your family’s rights over the property.
