Our ancestral home was in my grandfather’s name. He passed away in 1982, and after that, my father and uncle didn’t transfer the house to my grandmother. She also passed away in 1994, and again, no legal paperwork was done. Now, my father has also passed away, and I want to register the house in my mother and uncle’s names. Since there are no other legal heirs, what are the steps to transfer the property? We have my grandfather’s death certificate.

As your grandfather passed away in 1982, the property would have been inherited by his legal heirs, including your grandmother, father, and uncle. You need to obtain a succession certificate from a competent court to establish your mother and uncle’s ownership. This certificate, along with your grandfather’s death certificate, can be used to transfer the property in their names.
