My neighbor wants to build a new path (rasta) through my land, even though he already has a clear path to the village road. He doesn’t own any land on that side, it’s all mine. He insists that nobody can stop him from building a new path. He’s even put up a small gate there, and he’s doing all this without my permission. What can I do legally to stop him?

Your neighbor’s actions are illegal. You have the right to exclude others from your property. You can file a complaint with the local authorities, such as the police or the tehsildar, to stop him from building the path and remove the gate. You may also consider pursuing a civil case to obtain an injunction against further encroachment.
