My mother passed away in 1948, leaving me, her only son, as the sole inheritor of her property. However, my sons are now claiming a share in this property, which she acquired on her own. I have two wives, the first with seven children and the second with four. Is it true that I am the only rightful heir to my mother’s property, or do my sons also have a claim?

Under Indian law, you are the sole heir to your mother’s property as her only son. Your sons have no claim to this property as it was acquired by your mother independently. Your wives and their children are not legal heirs to your mother’s property.
