My mother-in-law, who worked at SBI, passed away recently. She owned land and other assets. We have four sisters in the family. What happens to the property if she didn’t leave a will or name a nominee? If she did name a nominee, how can we claim our share?

If your mother-in-law passed away without a will or nominee, her property will be divided equally among her legal heirs, including her children and grandchildren. If she named a nominee, the property will pass on to the nominee, and you would have to prove that you are legal heirs to claim your share through a legal process.
