Your in-laws’ claim that you’re not entitled to a share due to your husband’s previous marriage is incorrect. As a legally married wife, you have equal rights to property acquired during your marriage under the Hindu Succession Act, regardless of your husband’s past relationships. Consult a lawyer to formally establish your rights and challenge the exclusion.
