My grandmother passed away in 1999, leaving behind a property that she had gifted to my father, her youngest son, for taking care of her. Now, her second son has filed a case claiming his share. While my uncles are not objecting, the case has been going on for 25 years and recently, a false witness has been introduced after my father’s passing two years ago. We need help to resolve this long-standing family dispute.

Under Indian law, a gift deed duly registered is legally valid and can transfer ownership. Your uncle’s claim might be based on inheritance rights, but the gift deed could be a strong defense. Consider legal advice to address the false witness and ensure a fair outcome.
