My grandfather’s property was divided among his three sons, including my father. Dad inherited one-third of the land. After his passing in 1999 and my mother’s in 2010, I’m unsure how the property will be divided amongst us four siblings (two brothers and two sisters). My siblings, without consulting me, sold two portions claiming they were my sisters’ shares. My brother now refuses to give me my rightful share and continues to occupy the property. How can I legally partition the remaining land?

Under Indian law, you have the right to inherit your father’s property as his legal heir. Since the sale of two portions was done without your consent, it may be considered invalid. You can file a partition suit in court to establish your rightful share and seek partition of the remaining land.
