My grandfather built a house and sadly passed away. It was inherited by my grandmother, who has two children, my father and his sister. The house has three floors. My grandmother’s will states that two floors should go to my father and one to his sister. My father recently remarried after separating from my mother.
My question is, after my grandmother passes, can my father sell his two floors and I would get nothing from this ancestral property? If he wills one floor to me, what rights does his second wife have over the remaining floor? Can he decide what happens to that floor?

Under Indian law, your father can sell his two floors after your grandmother passes. You would not inherit anything from this sale as your grandmother’s will specifies the distribution. Your father can will one floor to you, but his second wife has no rights over the remaining floor unless he includes her in his will. He has the right to decide what happens to the remaining floor.
