My father passed away before 2005, and I know the Supreme Court has ruled that daughters don’t inherit property equally. If we want to sell the family property now, do we need my sisters’ signatures, or can we sell it without their consent?

If your father passed away before 2005, the law governing inheritance would be the Hindu Succession Act, 1956. Under this act, daughters do not inherit property equally with sons. However, to sell the property, you would still need the consent of all legal heirs, including your sisters, as they are co-owners.
