My father passed away 20 years ago, after selling our family home but before the property was legally transferred to the buyer. Now, my mother has also passed away. The buyer has since sold the property to someone else and wants to transfer ownership to the new owner. We are three siblings. What should we do to resolve this situation?

Since the property was not legally transferred to the buyer during your father’s lifetime, your family still holds legal ownership. You and your siblings need to file a suit for specific performance against the original buyer to compel them to complete the transfer. You can then authorize the transfer of ownership to the current owner.
