My father has two sons and two daughters, all of us siblings. Our grandparents passed away 15 years ago, leaving behind land acquired during partition. I’d like to understand how this land is divided between the married sons and daughters, and what share my married sisters would inherit from our living parents.

Under Indian law, the land inherited from your grandparents will be divided equally between you and your siblings, including your married sisters. Regarding your parents’ property, the share of your married sisters will depend on whether your parents have created a will and how they decide to distribute their property.
