My father has two sisters. Sadly, his father passed away but his mother is still alive. We have a family property that my father wants to inherit. He already gave some money to his sisters as compensation, but we didn’t have anything in writing. How can we get a document to officially show that my father owns the property now, considering he already compensated his sisters?

Under Indian law, your father’s right to inherit the property is governed by the Hindu Succession Act. As his father is deceased and his mother is alive, the property will be divided equally amongst your father and his sisters. Since your father already compensated his sisters, a formal agreement in writing acknowledging the payment and relinquishing their claims to the property would be required to establish your father’s sole ownership.
