My father bought agricultural land in 1969, putting it in my elder brother’s name. He was 20 then, studying, while my other brother and I were still kids. We never did anything with the land, but just found out he sold it for 5 lakhs recently. What can we do now?

You can file a legal suit against your brother for the sale of the agricultural land, claiming that it was fraudulently transferred in his name. You’ll need to prove your father’s ownership and the lack of consideration for the transfer. You may also be able to claim a share of the sale proceeds as rightful heirs.
