My father bought 1.2 acres of land in 1971 using a traditional agreement. We’ve been living on it since then. We applied for official ownership in 2006, but there was a dispute with my father’s brother’s family, who also claimed the land. After a long legal battle, my father finally got the ownership document in 2010. However, during the court proceedings, my uncle sold the land to a real estate company. Even though the police intervened, the land was recently returned to the company. What can we do to get the illegal ownership cancelled and regain possession of our land?

You have a strong legal claim based on your long-standing possession and ownership documents. You should immediately file a civil suit against the real estate company, challenging the sale and seeking cancellation of their ownership. Evidence of your possession, your father’s ownership, and the fraudulent nature of the sale will be crucial to your case.
