My father, a resident of Maharashtra, passed away a few years ago without leaving a will. He owned 8 acres of farmland and a house, both acquired through his own hard work. He is survived by my mother, two sons (myself and my brother), and two daughters who were married before 1994.
I have a few questions regarding the inheritance:
1. As my sisters were married before 1994, what is their rightful share in the farmland and the house?
2. Since my father earned the property himself, can my mother claim the entire estate for herself?

Under the Hindu Succession Act, your sisters are entitled to an equal share of the property along with you and your brother, regardless of their marriage date. Your mother is entitled to a one-third share of the property, while the remaining two-thirds will be divided equally among you, your brother, and your two sisters.
