My family bought a plot in a society back in 1992 and got it registered. But recently, the society told us that the plot we were given isn’t actually theirs and they’ve now given us a different one within the same survey area. The problem is, the new plot has different boundaries than the one registered in our sale deed. What can I do to fix this discrepancy in the legal documents?

You need to approach the society and request a rectification of the sale deed to reflect the new plot boundaries. If they refuse, you can file a civil suit for specific performance, seeking a corrected sale deed based on the new plot. You might also consider seeking legal advice from a lawyer specialized in property law to guide you through the process.
