You should consult with a lawyer to verify the legitimacy of the ownership documents and understand your rights as a long-term resident. You can also approach the local municipal authorities or the Sub-Registrar of Assurances to inquire about the ownership records. Do not sign any development agreement until you have verified the ownership and understand its implications.
