I recently added some lovely wood paneling to the outside wall of my flat to spruce things up. But now, the society is saying they might object because they decided at the AGM to disallow any work outside of flats. I wasn’t present at the AGM as I was out of town, and wasn’t informed of the decision. Any advice on what I can do?

The society’s decision made at the AGM is legally binding on you, even if you were absent. However, you can approach the society’s management committee and explain your situation, requesting them to consider your case and potentially allow the wood paneling. You could also explore if the decision was communicated to all residents, as proper notification is necessary for such bylaw changes.
