My friend was driving his car and got into an accident with a woman riding a scooter. Sadly, she passed away at the hospital. The car’s registration is under a company’s name, but the insurance is in the name of a different company director. It hasn’t been officially transferred. Will the insurance company cover the claim? If not, who is responsible for paying?

Under Indian law, the insurance company is likely to deny the claim as the insurance policy is not in the name of the registered owner of the car. The company director who owns the insurance policy and the company who owns the vehicle are jointly responsible for covering the damages and liabilities arising from the accident.
