My father, who has a heavy vehicle driving license, was involved in an accident on July 15th. Sadly, a young boy lost his life. We applied for a license renewal on May 28th, paying all the necessary fees at the RTO office. However, we only received the renewed license on July 16th. Would this delay, which was entirely due to the RTO office, be a strong defense in court if we face legal action?

While the delay in receiving the renewed license was beyond your control and attributable to the RTO, it is unlikely to be a strong defense in court. The legal action is likely based on the accident itself and your father’s responsibility, not the timing of the license renewal.
