My car got hit by a bike while I was driving within our company’s living quarters. I was on my usual route and taking a turn when the accident happened. The biker was badly hurt, breaking his leg and needing surgery. He’s supposed to be out of action for 6 months. The problem is, everyone thinks I’m at fault, even though there’s no real proof. He’s insured by the company and earns a good salary, but he’s asking for nearly 4 lakh rupees to settle this outside court. His total household income is around 1 lakh per month. What should I do?

While it’s true that you’re being accused, there’s no proof of your fault. You should consult a lawyer to assess the situation and explore options like filing a police report to establish the truth and potentially negotiate a lower settlement. Since the biker is insured, his insurance company should also be involved in resolving the situation.
