We rented an office space in Bangalore for 10 months. The agreement ended, and we informed the landlord we wouldn’t renew. Now, he’s demanding two months’ extra rent, saying we needed to give a two-month notice. Is this justified, even though we’re leaving after the agreement expired?

In India, a landlord can only demand extra rent for breaking a lease agreement if the lease explicitly mentions a notice period for termination. Since your agreement expired, and you did not renew, the landlord’s demand for two months’ extra rent is not justified unless your lease specifically included such a clause.
