My grandfather rented out a shop to a tenant many years ago, before any written agreements were made. The tenant’s son is now claiming ownership of the shop and refusing to vacate. We filed a case with the Rent Control Board, but he’s now claiming the shop is his. What are my best options in this situation?

Based on Indian law, you can present evidence of your grandfather’s ownership and the rental agreement, even if it was oral. The Rent Control Board can help resolve the dispute. You may also need to pursue a separate legal action to establish ownership if the tenant’s son’s claim is contested.
