I’ve been renting a place in Electronic City for a deposit of ₹5 lakhs, but the lease agreement expired in February 2015. The owner keeps asking for rent, but we haven’t paid anything since then. Is the agreement still valid? We’ve found a new apartment and need to move within six months; we can’t extend the old lease.
