You are likely considered a tenant under the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999. While the redevelopment dispute is between the landlord and the Trust, it does not affect your rights as a tenant. You can approach the Rent Control Court to seek recovery of your ‘pagdi’ rent and to determine your rights during the redevelopment process.
