My husband passed away in 2009 in Delhi, after a heart attack. We were both employed by a private company in Noida. We had a child together. After his passing, my child and I have been receiving a pension, with me getting ₹1500 and my child receiving ₹400. I have recently remarried. Will my pension continue after remarriage, like it does for army widows, or should I inform the PF authority to stop it? A PF officer mentioned it might continue, but I haven’t seen any official documentation. Could you please provide guidance on this matter?

Under Indian law, your pension is likely to stop after remarriage. The pension benefits for employees of private companies are governed by the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, which doesn’t have specific provisions for continuation of pension upon remarriage. You should inform the PF authority about your remarriage and seek clarification on the continuation of your pension.
