My friend’s sister, let’s call her Mrs. X, got a divorce in 2002 and got a government job in 2004 using a special quota for divorced women. She remarried her ex-husband in 2007 and now has two children. She’s still working for the government. Could someone legally challenge her job based on this? I remember there wasn’t a special rule for divorced women when she got her job. What should she do?

It’s highly unlikely anyone can legally challenge Mrs. X’s job. The quota for divorced women likely existed at the time she got the job in 2004. Her subsequent remarriage does not retroactively invalidate her employment. However, if there are specific concerns about the legality of the quota, she should consult with a lawyer.
