I’ve secured a permanent job with the Delhi government but am still in probation. Three months ago, I applied for a central government role and resigned from my current position. My offer letter states a one-month notice period under rule 5(1) of the CCS (Temporary Service) Rules, 1965. My new job’s joining date was January, but I haven’t received confirmation yet. Can I leave my current job without waiting for a relieving order?

You are bound by the one-month notice period stipulated in your offer letter. You cannot leave without a relieving order, even if you have resigned. It is advisable to seek clarification from your current employer regarding the relieving process and wait for the formal order before leaving.
