I’ve been working remotely for an American startup based in Hyderabad for the last year and a half. I recently resigned in August, but the owner hasn’t confirmed a specific release date from my employment agreement. He wants me to continue working on the current project for another 3-4 months. What options do I have to get a proper release and experience certificate? Also, how can I get my final salary payment since they haven’t paid since I resigned?

You have the right to a proper release and experience certificate upon resignation. Since your employment agreement doesn’t specify a release date, you can negotiate a mutually agreeable date with the owner. If they refuse, you can file a complaint with the Labour Department or initiate legal action. Regarding salary, you can send a legal notice demanding payment, and if they still don’t pay, you can file a legal suit for recovery.
