I’m working at a partnership firm in India, and my employer hasn’t paid my salary for months. He says we’ll only get paid when the company gets business, even though I’ve brought in clients. This isn’t the first time we’ve faced salary issues here. There are about 10 employees facing the same problem. Can you advise us on how to take legal action against our employer? We really need your help.

You can file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner under the Payment of Wages Act, 1936. This act mandates timely payment of salaries, and failure to do so is punishable by law. You can also file a civil suit in a court of competent jurisdiction for recovery of your unpaid wages.
