I worked for a company from May to August last year. I had an accident in late August and informed the Director about my situation. He said I could return to work once I recovered. However, I got caught up with family matters and other commitments. I tried to finalize my exit formalities with them but they kept saying they were unavailable. After repeated attempts, the Director finally agreed to release my salary after six months. When I questioned this delay, they said they wouldn’t release it at all. What can I do to get my salary back?

You have a legal right to receive your salary for the period you worked. Since your employer is refusing to pay, you can file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner or file a lawsuit in a civil court to recover your salary. You should also consider seeking legal advice to understand your rights and options for recovering your dues.
