I work at an IT firm and have a brilliant idea! My company has a team that handles patents. If this idea gets patented, who owns it? Does the company own it? Can I file a patent on my own, even if the company has an interest?

In India, an invention made by an employee during the course of their employment, using the employer’s resources, typically belongs to the employer. However, you can file a patent on your own, but you would need to disclose your employer’s interest and seek their consent, as it could be considered a breach of contract if you don’t.
