I joined PEC University of Technology in March 2001 after clearing the UPSC exam. Before joining, I received a written assurance in February 2001 that my salary would be protected as per government regulations. This assurance was given after the university thoroughly reviewed my previous employment details and salary. However, in 2010, the university informed me that I wouldn’t receive the promised increment because the UPSC didn’t recommend my name with the additional increment. What legal options do I have to ensure my rightful pay?

You can file a civil suit against PEC University of Technology, claiming breach of contract based on the written assurance regarding your salary. You can argue that the university’s actions violate the terms of the contract and that they are obligated to uphold their promise, regardless of the UPSC’s recommendations.
