I joined MRSS India in Mumbai six months ago and was promised a term bonus, included in my salary, at the end of that period. It’s been over 10 months, and the company hasn’t paid it. I informed them I would resign if they didn’t release it, and I did. I have my relieving letter. How can I recover my bonus? What legal steps should I take?

You can file a claim for the unpaid bonus with the Labour Court under the Payment of Wages Act, 1936. You can seek recovery of the bonus amount along with interest and compensation for delayed payment. Since you have a relieving letter and evidence of the promised bonus, you have a strong case.
