I joined DAV Public School, Kirandul in August 2002 as a Primary Teacher. I have an M.Sc. in Bio-Science and a B.Ed. degree. For several years, I taught Class 12 Biology even though there were many experienced and senior science teachers. However, no one else stepped up to teach this crucial subject. While I was happy to help during this time, I was unexpectedly shifted to classes 9 and 10 last year without any clear explanation. I feel this decision might be unfair. Can I take legal action against the school principal?

Indian law allows for private schools to manage their staff and curriculum. While you may feel the shift is unfair, a lack of explanation alone might not constitute a legal basis for action. However, if you believe you were discriminated against or if there’s evidence of a breach of contract, you could consult a lawyer to explore your legal options.
